“Bushido's Call to Arms”

For Bushido, the year 2025 is a year of accomplishment. On March 8th, We will host our Annual Bushido Challenge, and never have we been more prepared for that day.

Over the past few weeks, I have seen students bleed, sweat, cry, puke and collapse from exhaustion. I’ve also seen pride of accomplishment, determination, loyalty, and dedication in preparation for this tournament. All of this is what drives us and makes us who we are, in number… and in strength…but

Even great, we are not at our greatest, and though strong, we are not as strong as we can be. In order for Bushido to accomplish this, we need the dedication of every single member who has ever benefited by having Bushido as a part of your life.

There are those who claim Bushido has saved your life. Some claim Bushido has helped you get through tough times. For many of you who could not pay, Bushido has sponsored you. When you needed transportation, Bushido got you there and back. When you feel alone, you know you have family and friends at Bushido, and if you feel unaccepted, you can find no greater solace than Bushido Judo School.

“Those who fail make excuses why they shouldn't do something. Successful people make excuses why they should” -Sensei Darian Stokes

Now, It’s Bushido’s time… the time to give back to what we have so graciously accepted. March 8th, 2025 is Bushido’s time, and there can be no excuses short of death. Haven’t been training enough lately?... You have time left to get trained up. Out of shape?... Then let this be the motivation and reason for you to want to get back in shape. Don’t think you’re ready?...When will you be?

“If you can take from a man a year, surely you can give him back one day”. – Sensei Darian Stokes

I’m calling all Bushido students to the battlefield, to participate in one of NC Judo’s greatest tournaments of the year. A lot of our NC Judo neighbors are coming to support in hopes to be met with great competition. We will give them the competition they deserve. We are warriors. We fight until we meet someone who can take the fight out of us. Then we get back up and we fight them again…. Harder than before. We come at our opponent with every fiber of our being. Win, lose… it makes no difference, we will fight them with the same intensity. If they destroy our arms, we will chase them. If they destroy our legs, we will fight them with our mind. If they destroy our mind, we will fight them with our spirit! Losing is acceptable but it is not an option. We will win…. We must win, for tomorrow holds more battles for us to face.

We are BUSHIDO!!!!
